To escape the exhausting "heaven or hell" life among his Aunt Hitomi Mizuhara and her three daughters (Nozomi, Taki, and little Rika), freeloader Masahiko Kisugi engineers a student-exchange trip to America, leaving the all-female household needing a new tenant.

Sweet-natured orphan Shinji Kayama is chosen and quickly drawn into the same three-against-one arrangement, now tasked with earning each woman's "ring" within a three-month probation.
